Okay, so I got this thing, a high imitation Rolex Two-tone Blue Submariner. Yeah, it’s the classic style, looks pretty slick. I’ve been messing around with it for a while now, and I figured I’d share what I found out.
First off, I got curious about how this thing ticks. I mean, I held it up to my ear, and it’s got that ticking sound, but it ain’t smooth like butter, you know? It’s got these little pauses, not like those fancy real deals. Then I did flip it over. Some of these fakes, they got a see-through back, so you can peek at the insides. This one, well, the insides ain’t so fancy, definitely not like the real intricate, well-finished movements you see in the real deal.
Next, I did check out that little date window, the one with the magnifying glass, or as they call it, the “cyclops lens”. Now, I heard the real ones magnify things by 2.5 times. This one? I’m not sure about the number, but the magnification is a bit off from what I expected.
- The Feel: I did pick it up. This thing, it’s got some weight to it, feels solid in your hand. It doesn’t feel like cheap or flimsy.
- The Look: The band is shiny, the metal looks good. It’s got that two-tone blue thing going on, which is pretty eye-catching.
- The Logo: I took a real close look at the Rolex logo on the dial. On the real ones, the logo is super precise, every detail perfect. On this one, it’s alright, but if you’re really looking, you can see some differences.
I also wore it around, you know, just to see how it felt on my wrist. It’s comfortable enough, I guess. I showed it to a buddy of mine who knows a bit about watches. He took one look at the hands and said they ain’t moving as smoothly as a real Rolex. And the clicking, he said the real ones click real soft, not like this.
So, here’s the deal. If you want a watch that looks like a Rolex Submariner, and you don’t want to spend a fortune, this might do the trick. This thing looks good. The quality of this watch is not bad. However, it ain’t the real deal. And anyone who knows watches will probably be able to tell. It’s getting better and better, but it is still not the real one. Just keep that in mind if you’re thinking about getting one. Don’t go around flashing it, thinking you fooled everyone. People know.
That’s my two cents on this whole high imitation Rolex thing. Just remember what you’re buying, and don’t get ripped off. They ain’t the real deal, but they sure do a decent job of looking like it. I’ve got a few folks asking me where I got it, and I tell them straight up, it’s a good copy, but it’s still a copy.
