Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with watches lately, and I gotta say, this latest project was a real doozy. I decided to try my hand at building a high imitation of the Rolex New Green Submariner. You know, the one with the green bezel, super classic style. It’s a pretty ambitious project, but hey, I was up for the challenge.

Getting Started

First things first, I needed to gather all the parts. This was probably the trickiest part of the whole process. I spent hours online, scouring forums, and talking to other watch enthusiasts. It wasn’t easy, but eventually, I managed to track down everything I needed. I got a good case, a decent movement, and all the other bits and pieces. I even managed to find a pretty convincing green bezel, which was a major score.

The Build

Once I had all the parts, it was time to start assembling the watch. Let me tell you, this was no walk in the park. I’ve built a few watches before, but this one was definitely the most complicated.

  • Fitting the movement: This was a real pain. It’s such a tiny little thing, and getting it to sit just right in the case took forever. I had to be super careful not to damage it.
  • Attaching the dial and hands: This was also pretty fiddly. Those hands are so small, and getting them aligned perfectly was a real test of patience. But I got it done.
  • Installing the bezel: This was actually one of the easier parts, surprisingly. The bezel I got fit perfectly, and it clicked into place without any issues. Phew!
  • Putting on the bracelet: This was the final step. I had to adjust the bracelet to fit my wrist, which took a bit of time, but once it was done, the watch was finally complete.

The Result

After all that hard work, I finally had my very own high imitation Rolex New Green Submariner. And I gotta say, it turned out pretty darn good. It’s not perfect, of course. There are a few little details that aren’t quite right, but overall, I’m really happy with it. It looks great on my wrist, and it keeps pretty good time, too. It’s definitely a conversation starter, and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it.

Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. And now I have a pretty cool watch to show for it. I don’t think I’ll be selling these things or anything. For me this was just a fun experiment. For now, I’m just going to enjoy wearing my new creation.
