Alright, so, I’ve been wanting to make this YSL JUNE BOX BAG for a while now. You know, the whole shebang, start from scratch. Not buying a finished one, but actually making it myself. I mean, it’s called the YSL JUNE BOX BAG, such a fancy name, right? I wanted to make it as a gift for someone’s birthday.
Getting Started
First things first, I had to figure out what this bag even looked like up close. So I spent a good chunk of time just staring at pictures online. This bag, it’s got this shiny metal YSL thing on the front. Some folks dig it, some don’t, but that’s what makes it a YSL, I guess. And it is a remake, which means it’s designed to look like an older model, bringing back that classic style. Classic style is back in fashion, they say. I guess it’s true.
I also read up a bit about Yves Saint Laurent, the brand. Turns out, it’s a pretty big deal in the fashion world, been around since 1961. They’re not just about bags, but, you know, I’m here for the bag.
The Process
Now, onto the making part. This wasn’t just a grab-some-fabric-and-sew kind of deal. I wanted it to be good, really good. So, I started by sketching out the design, making sure I got all the details right. The size, the shape, that YSL logo, everything. It is said that the JUNE BOX is special, bulbous, round, I don’t know what that means. But I tried to make it special.
Next up, materials. I couldn’t just use any old fabric. It had to feel right, look right. I spent days just looking at different materials, feeling them, comparing them. Finally settled on this smooth leather that just screamed quality.
- Sketching: Got the design down on paper.
- Material Hunting: Found the perfect smooth leather.
- Cutting: Measured twice, cut once.
- Sewing: Putting it all together, piece by piece.
- The Logo: The trickiest part, making that metal YSL look just right.
Cutting the leather was nerve-wracking. One wrong move and that’s it, you know? But I took it slow, made sure every piece was perfect. Then came sewing. Now, I’m no expert, but I’ve dabbled. This was different, though. Every stitch had to be on point. It was slow going, but seeing it come together was pretty satisfying.
The YSL logo was a whole other beast. I ended up getting some help with that, to be honest. It’s metal, and getting it to look shiny and pretty like the real deal, that’s tough. But, we managed.
The Result
After all that, it’s finally done. And I gotta say, it looks pretty darn good. It’s got that fancy, elegant vibe to it, just like the real YSL bags. Will it last a long time? I sure hope so. I put a lot of work into this thing.
Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but also pretty rewarding. Plus, now I can say I made a YSL bag. Not many people can say that, right?
So, that’s my little adventure with the YSL JUNE BOX BAG remake. It was a journey, but hey, we got there.
