So, I saw this Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag the other day, and I was like, “I gotta have that!” But, you know, the price tag? Ouch. • Now came the tricky part – sewing. I borrowed my grandma’s old sewing machine. It took me a while to figure out how to thread the darn thing, but I eventually got it working. I started by sewing the side pieces to the front and back pieces. Then I attached the bottom. It was a bit like putting together a puzzle, but with a needle and thread.

The little details

• After the main body of the bag was done, I added some details. I made a little flap for the top and attached it with a snap button I found in my junk drawer. Then I made a strap by sewing two long strips of the faux leather together. I even added some gold-colored rings to the sides of the bag so I could attach the strap.

Honestly, it took me a whole weekend to finish the bag. There were times when I wanted to give up, especially when the sewing machine acted up.
