So, the other day, I got this wild hair to remake that fancy Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. Yeah, the one everybody’s been yapping about. I mean, I’d seen it around, heard folks talking about it, all that jazz. And I thought, why not give it a shot? I’ve always been a bit of a hands-on kinda guy, you know?

First thing’s first, I had to figure out what this bag was all about. I started poking around online, reading what other folks had to say about it. Some were talking about remaking it, others were just gushing over the original. It’s got this flap thing, and some fancy name stitched on it – Cassandre, sounds like a movie star or something. And there’s a bunch of that quiltin’ too.

Getting the Goods

  • Leather: I needed some good quality leather, something that felt right.
  • Lining: Found some nice fabric for the inside, gotta make it look good inside and out.
  • Hardware: This was tricky, finding the right buckles and things that matched the original.
  • Thread: Heavy-duty stuff, you don’t want this thing falling apart.

I hit up a few stores, and, let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. You wouldn’t believe the looks I got when I told ’em what I was up to. Like, who does this kinda thing? But I wasn’t giving up, not me. I managed to round up all the materials, piece by piece. It was like a treasure hunt, honestly.

Putting It All Together

Now came the hard part. I laid everything out on my workbench – the leather, the lining, the hardware, all of it. It looked like a jumbled mess, but I had a plan. I started cutting the leather, following the measurements I’d scribbled down. Then I stitched it all together, bit by bit. It was slow going, let me tell you. My fingers were sore, my eyes were tired, but I kept at it. There were times I wanted to throw in the towel, but I’d come too far to quit.

After what felt like forever, it finally started to look like a bag. I added the flap, that fancy Cassandre nameplate, and all the quilting. It wasn’t perfect, mind you. There were a few wonky stitches, a couple of uneven edges, but it was mine. I’d made it with my own two hands, and that’s something, right?

I’m not saying it’s as good as the real deal. Far from it. But it’s got character, you know? It’s a testament to what you can do with a little bit of grit and a whole lot of patience. And hey, if nothing else, it’s a good conversation starter. People see it, and they’re like, “Did you make that?” And I get to tell ’em the whole story, from start to finish. It’s not just a bag; it’s an adventure.

So that is my YSL JUNE BOX BAG remake story. It might not be worth a fortune, like those YSL investment pieces they talk about, but it is worth a lot to me. It is the opposite of an investment, but it is all my purchase. Hope you guys like my sharing!
